When this was described by my friend Bob in Venice FL as a giant freak of catt, I didn't know what to think. I have seen the registered hybrid Lester McDonald at Waldor Orchids in NJ, and although quite large and beautiful it had a light lip instead of the almost magenta color of this one. The newest pseudobulb on mine is just shy of 2' long and the flowers are enormous! Bob was not embellishing his description!

The scent of limes and a hint of roses! It takes up twice the amount of space than any other cattleya we have, but the fragrance is more than worth it.

Back again in bloom this year after potting in hydroton filled waterlily basket. Not fully open yet, but i still love it.
