They should just be starting to make new roots now; they typically throw new growths and will start new roots as the new vegetative growth is about 1/2 way complete. If you can keep the humidity high (<60%) you'll see flush formation and elongation of the developing root stubs.

Default Thanks for the specifics on root formation.

Here's a picture of the new growth. The mounted 'plant' is actually 3 different individuals which I have culturally pruned to a few pb each, then mounted them all together. I incubated them in a bright bathroom in a mayonnaise jar with a little water in the bottom, and now have 3 new leads. I'm hesitant to put them outside in the shade house (high 70's during day, but often 30-40% RH).

I'm not sure what to tell you about putting it outside. The psb look a bit dehydrated to me. If you can keep it a bit more moist I'd say it might like it out there. If it is going to get dryer then maybe not. Do you have any kelp? If so I would use that on it to see if you can jump start the roots. It should soon start putting some out.

I have one in a pot and it is inside but I have to water it every day. I have yet to get it to bloom however. But it does have 2 new growths coming.

NPW and Stone,
Thanks for the insight into the growth habits of this little plant. I think I'll leave it inside in the jar till I see some roots. Outside humidity right now is 74%, but daytime it drop to around 40%.
I'll try some kelp but could use some guidance there as well. Brand name, application rate?

Outdoors should be fine, provided you place your plant in a shaded position and water frequently (4-5x daily); Sophronitis grow in areas where humidity falls during the day and rapidly increases as it cools down and clouds over at night; there is also steady movement of air at all times. Soph. cernua is one of the most forgiving of the Sophronitis species, as it can thrive under a much wider swath of temps and light levels, but it generally performs best with high light (20% shade, though they can take full sun if coupled with constant airflow over the plant), ample water & intermediate temps.
Yours does look dessicated; if you place it outside, I'd recommend hanging it in a horizontal position as opposed to vertically; make sure there's plenty of airflow where it's hanging (if you don't see tree leaves moving, select a different site). Keep us posted and good luck,
Adam

I use kelpMax that I get from First Ray's, and Ray say's to use 1/2 oz to a gallon.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement. I see that there are some very accomplished C. cernua growers here. I applied some Schultz Takeroot and sprayed a weak solution of GrowMore Seaweed Extract, and hope it's not going to set the plants back. (Multiple plants on one cork slab.)

In looking it over this morning, I see two more leads that I hadn't seen before, total of 5. We'll just have to wait.

1flower1planet,
Sorry to have hijacked your thread. Your photos show some very healthy plants, and I'm still curious about mounting, water, etc.
