My Brassavola nodosa just opened a few days ago. It is a first time bloomer that I have had since last May. I keep thinking I may be starting to smell something at night but not much yet. I keep forgetting to check latter in the evening. It's my first one so I'm not sure what to expect. I was kind of surprised that the bloom is as big as it is for the size of the plant. I'm not saying mine is bigger than most it is that I just don't have any idea and thought it would be smaller.
I'm in northern Wyoming and mine grows from natural light from my windows. Gets kind of chilly at night low 60's I would say and can get down into the upper 50's occasionally. Warmer during the day.
