I was fortunate to discover this rare orchid on a stick at Andy's booth in Reno Show this November at the AOS Trustees Fall meeting. He was in a booth next to mine. A couple weeks later in my cool terranium in Toronto I saw 5 spikes developing. Here are the results:
This was a new species discovered by Andy and named after his brother.
Flowers are light pink, with a contrasting yellow lip and a white side lopes, creating a halo in the central area. There were no stripes like the others I've seen.
Culture: 23-25 days and 13-15 nights; spray daily with RO water, drying by night, watered once a week and light feeding (seakelp/fish emulsion/super thrive) every 3-4th watering. Low to medium light levels.
