Laelia anceps season Male
Default Laelia anceps season

One of my favorite species. I have had a few plants for several years (incl one that I have grown from single lead to 6 leads & spikes in 3 years). I also have about 15 seedlings (from SVO & Exotic), which are approaching blooming size, a couple are in spike now. Behind those are several compots with seedlings from a flask I got from Troy Meyers

For a while I have been looking for better quality flowers. Earlier this year I bit the bullet and ordered divisions of 4 different SBOE clones. The first two are in bloom now:

Var alba, 'Paloma Blanca'
Standard 'SanBar Pink Pixie'

I am not really clear on why the 2nd one was named Pink Pixie. I expected something small (or short spike), but it is about average in both size and spike length
