I will need to pick up some, thanks! I had this once, years ago, when I first started with orchids. Maybe that is why my Den was fragrant. :|

Hummmm, very interesting.
I'm going to way in here. When I first was growing I was using Better grow but not the bloom booster but the orchid pro. I have now switched to K-Lite. Last summer I got a noID mini orchid from Albersons that when I got into my truck and it warmed up smelled great.
It is now blooming again on the same spike and I can not detect a fragrance. I have tried at all times of the day and at night even when it is in the sun. Where did it go? Does make one think. It had started a new spike but I guess I broke it off or an insect bit it off, I am not sure. I thought I was being careful with it but I have been a bit clumsy lately.
If it doesn't smell the next time around I may go back to Better Gro and see if that changes things.
I can't wait to see if others see a difference. Then too it just may be something else. Keep use posted.

Shannon, this does make me curious, and I am also curious to see what will happen if others make a change in fertilizer. I don't think that we are anywhere near the end of the story.
Here is the next chapter for me at least. I have another division of this plant, at home, in spike, probably blooming between now and Christmas (likely in the next week to 10 days). I am leaving it at home until it blooms. Will it also be fragrant? Or not?

I have half a mind to get some more orchid Pro as I need to order more orchid supplies any way. I do have 2 C. Brassy Gold, the first one bloomed and did have a faint smell. The other one has not bloomed yet. I should feed it with the orchid pro and see if when it blooms if it smells more. Then again will I keep up with the different fert. Knowing me I won't, I'm lucky at times if they even get fert.
But yes I think this question will take some time unfortunately.

The fertilizing for strong flowers makes sense to me. I gave a couple doses of bloom boosting ( low nitrogen with P And lots of K) to my catts this year near the end of summer and they were more fragrant than I had noticed before.

I will soon get a chance to see if it is something specific to this plant or something triggered by moving it to my office. Another division of this plant is getting ready to bloom, probably in a couple weeks!

The second bloom on my phal is starting to smell just a bit. It's still not as much as it was this summer. It is going to throw some more off the same branch perhaps because I broke off the new spike so we will see how they smell.
I don't really think my temp is that much different during the day but it does get cooler at night than it did in the summer. I suppose that could be a factor.
