Guarianthe patinii
I bought this plant as skinneri, but it´s flowering now (skinneri is a spring bloomer). So I doubted and after some research and experts comments at Facebook, now I can say that it is a patinii. It´s so charming!! I like the contrasted lip, and it´s a pity that the pic is not as true as in reality (you know the problem with pink, lilac, purple tones when taking pics) It´s more lilac. I think it has a nice shape and spike displaying (8 flowers 2").
I hope you like it!!!
Mario

Yes, I had the idea that Guarianthe deckeri is a synonym. But I did my homework :-) while researching and I found the text that I copy and experts see my pics and told me that is patinii, and deckeri is incorrect.
"There is a special problem involving the hybrid swarm between C. aurantiaca and C. skinneri. Plants from this hybrid swarm have been described as new, including Cattleya deckeri Klotzsch, C. guatemalensis Moore, C. pachecoi Ames & Correll, C. skinneri var. parviflora Hook., and apparently Cattleya laelioides Lemaire (Withner 1999). Withner suggests that the name C. x guatemalensis should be conserved for the members of this hybrid swarm (1999), so we refrain from publishing any new combination based on the hybrid swarm. Both Rolfe (1900) and Withner (1999) hold that C. deckeri is the oldest name for C. patinii, a species widespread in northern South America. The available evidence suggests, however, that C. deckeri was based on a hybrid backcross to C. skinneri (Dressler 1998)."

I usually go along with what the Kew Checklist of Selected Plant Families considers valid species (except when I don't). They consider aurantiaca, bowringiana, patinii, skinneri and x guatemalensis as the valid entities in Guarianthe, with deckeri, laelioides and pachecoi falling within the x guatemalensis hybrid swarm.
I agree this doesn't look like skinneri, but if this is a typical patinii I doubt I could distinguish it from something in the swarm.

This family group looks so similar. Lucky we have experts and blooming seasons to help us sort out a taxonomic nightmare! Patinii it is then! All those oppose, turn around... LOL
