Slc. Best Friend 'Cleopatra'
Slc. (= Cattlianthe) Best Friend 'Cleopatra'
Initially there were two buds emerging but I broke one...
I'm terrible at handling things. I broke things a lot. So clumsy...
But still, there's one more sheath left, and I see buds forming inside it. Hoping I don't mess that too.

Very nice, and you will get a prolonged bloom with the other buds developing.
I think we've all broken a spike or bud or something. I have, more than once.

Very nice!
I am pretty experienced at breaking spikes and buds. I think I just got rid of a few of my Aerangis citrata buds yesterday. :|

You seem to have plenty of company in the clumsiness department. Unfortunately, I to have broken spikes. I am on the 4th round for a Phrag. spike. The first 2 years the spikes both dried up, the 3rd year the kids knocked the plant down, now the 4th year one bud dried but another bud is near opening. Talk about being paranoid that something is going to happen! It just looks so fragile and vulnerable.

Well, this year was even more unluckier than usual: bruised newly emerging pbulb of my dendrobiums, smashed some of my cymbidium pots, broke a good cane of epidendrum into half and so on.
It was like, reaching a new level of stupidity and clumsiness, so that I almost thought 'uh, I must be got jinxed or something'.
Oh yes, it is fragrant. A bit spicy scent.
