Cattleya perrinii coerulea
12 flowers this year.
Do you think it could be awarded?

Its nicely presented. The only way to figure out if it is awardable is to have it judged! If it doesn't get awarded, the judges should tell you why and give you tips regarding next year's bloom.

That is a gorgeous display, but the slight damage on the dorsal sepal of that central flower is probably enough to keep it from getting a formal award. Orchid judges can be pretty harsh about small faults - looking for perfection. Other than that it would depend on size and number of flowers compared to previous awards, and how rare awarded blue forms of this species are. I'll try to remember to check the award stats in OrchidWiz when I can.

If it were mine...I would get it to judging. As stated, you'll never know for certain until you take it.
It's a knock out, for sure, and I hope mine looks that good one day.

Looks good. As a student AOS judge, I would definitely nominate it during screening. Then we would discuss color (good clear dark lip), size (what is natural spread in cm?), condition of flowers (slight damage in one of a bunch of flowers is ok), and compare to previous awards.
It is potentially awardable so please please bring it in!!
