Office Bloomers:BLC Windward Flare & LC Tropical Pointer 'Cheetah'
My latest office bloomers, BLC Windward Flare and LC Tropical Pointer 'Cheetah'. The BLC is a Lowe's bag baby purchased Spring of 2013 and the LC was purchased from a local vendor, Orchids For You, in August 2013. Both grew very well in my home under artificial light, but I never got them to bloom at home. So I took them to my office and sat them on the windowsill, gave them minimal care, hardly ever fertilised them and they responded by blooming. The BLC bloomed for me last year, but only gave me one flower. This is my first time blooming the LC.
The fragrance of both of them is amazing and fill my entire office from mid morning to late afternoon. When they started to spike, I looked forward to returning to work on Monday mornings after weekends at home to see how much the spikes had developed. I now look forward to work every day to enjoy their beauty and fragrance. My colleagues visit throughout the day to give them a sniff and I am not getting much work done.
First, BLC Windward Flare. With the white wall background, it was hard to get a decent picture, but I am too lazy to bring in my black background sheet.
And next, LC Tropical Pointer 'Cheetah'

Those are such beautiful flowers, and I'll bet they look great side-by side. I think you're on to something here. A spiking orchid is a pretty awesome incentive to get you to look forward to going to work. You might suggest it to your manager I work at home, and the spiking orchids in the other room keep me away from my desk more often than I care to admit!

Very nice!!
Especially the second one.
I had that exact same clone, and I loved it, but it had no trace of yellow in it.
Now I see the clonal name really fitting the flower.

Wow, beautiful!
It's great to be able to have those at the office. I work in a school, and we once tried to keep plants in the dept. office... And managed to kill every one of them, even pothos (which grow like crazy in our climate).

Thanks all for the nice comments.
I know that the orchid fragrance is designed to attract insect pollinators, but my office orchids also do a great job of attracting my female co-workers to my office. Yes, I am a dirty old man.
