Cattleya Orglade's Blaze: Two is company, three's a crowd, four is . . .
. . . the most blooms I've ever had on this plant.
I have had this plant 30 years. As some of you know from the "Orglade" in the name, this is an old Jones & Scully hybrid.
20 + years ago, the plant did not grow well, I could barely keep the roots alive in bark, and flowers were puny ( < 5 cm) and one at a time when it bloomed. I almost tossed it more than once (very glad I kept it).
I started growing this one and a few other in wine corks, and it has been much happier.
The 4 blooms are each 10 cm tall, a large flower size relative to the size of the plant. This is the best color it has shown as well. The leaves have always been faintly variegated and slightly twisted.
Hope you like!

Thanks everyone - I have three Cattleya alliance plants that were all purchased about 1985, two of these from Jones & Scully (still have the receipt from J&S, it was tucked in the dust jacket of one of my old orchid books, LOL). I have 1 (or 2?) others that are in the ~20+ year range. It is nice to have these old survivors do so well. For C. Orglade's Blaze, this is the best flowering yet.
