C. Lulu x Lc. Summerland Girl in bloom
C. Lulu 'Hot Pink' AM/AOS x Lc. Summerland Girl 'Orchidglade' is an unregistered cross that I got from Fred Clarke of SVO. It had a first bloom of 2 flowers last fall. I wasn't real thrilled with the form at that time. I think it has improved a bit this year. I had hoped for more spots since Lulu is a parent. But Summerland Girl is a solid red coloured one so this is what I got. According to the parents and Fred's expectations for this cross, it should be capable of getting a cluster of at least 5 or more blooms. We will see in the future. It has become a fairly tall plant at nearly a foot from the bottom of the pseudo bulbs to the top. Leaves are spread nearly flat. The fragrance is particularly nice. And there is another growth coming but this may be a seasonal bloomer so not sure if it will bloom, too soon to tell. The colour is interesting as kind of a dark, dusty rose.

Thanks everyone. The colour is quite rich. I try and get it true using white balance in my camera. Late in the afternoon it is still beautifully fragrant.
