C. Mrs. Mahler 'Mem. Fred Thompins' x Blc. Chinese Bronze 'E. G.'
This is a first bloom seedling of C. Mrs. Mahler 'Mem. Fred Thomkins' x Blc. Chinese Bronze 'E. G.' The single flower is 4 inches across. The petals are slightly ruffled and the petals and sepals are lightly spotted. The lip is an eye-popping magenta; and to top it off it is lightly fragrant! Can't wait to see what it does next year!

Carrie,
Flower looks like something that could produce a cluster, once the plant is big enough. How tall is the plant?

I'm not a Cattleya grower so it looks more like a species to me than a hybrid, but it is beautiful and well photographed as well. Excellent, and good luck on more flowers next year.

Kim, the last pbulb is about 12 in tall. I had a blind sheath last year so I was hopeful this time around.
I agree that subsequent blooming may produce clusters of flowers, especially as both parents have this trait. we'll just have to wait and see.
