It sounds like a nice compact plant, and it has a beautiful colored flower. Nice!

I was able to flower a new growth. 1st of three buds.
It appears to be enjoying the outdoors on a lightly shaded west-facing balcony (more humidity, sun, air circulation), as the petals and sepals are flatter. Still no fragrance.

I have this plant and love it (mine is in spike as we speak) - I have a weakness for art shades. It will bloom on every new growth given the right conditions. I grow mine like a brassavola - high light, warm, high humidity. Aside from the growth that's spiking, there are four more growths on the way.

Easy plant, compact, beautiful flowers, and repeat bloomer. Great choice!
