Euchile mariae
I had acquired this plant recently in bud and here are the blooms. I am so excited about this plant cause the flowers appealed to me as soon as I saw it and I just had to get it! Any cultural information for this plant is welcome cause I'm a bit confused as to what I read online. some say they lived in dry oak trees and some said that they liked it moist and shady. I only water it once every other week and I don't see the pseudobulbs shriveling so I keep it that way but at the same time there's a new growth and it seem smaller than the previous growth and also growing a flower spike which makes me think that I should water more often.

Very nice! Mine is just opening some of her buds today too! I got mine in March so I am no expert. There was no sign of spikes when I got it but it started soon after.
I have been treating it pretty much like my other Catts and watering when it dries, or even a bit before since it is producing 4 spikes and quite a few buds. OrchidWiz says these get a cool dry rest in the winter but apparently some people grow them without a real cool winter. Mine looks so happy that I am a little afraid of doing wrong by it! It gets quite a bit of light but not as much as some of my Catts.
Yours looks real happy too!

Thanks for your input! I think I would have to water it more. Twice a week perhaps since the pot is small but deep. I really love this little thing! It looks like an ice cream lol

So pretty. I've always admired this plant but have never grown it. Good luck with yours.

LOL you will regret trading it once you see the blooms! I'm sure yours will do just fine.

Wow. That is nice. I didn't know the flowers were so large. Wish I could grow this one.

Yup the flowers are huge in comparison to the whole plant and for me that is so appealing! Thank you!

I don't sense any scent. I have a miltoniopsis nearby that has a sharp rosy scent that's overpowering the whole area but I did stuck my nose on the flower one time and I couldn't detect anything.
