Light, yes, but also genetics. Some will grow "out and about" no matter how much light you give them whereas others will grow upright even in their lowest acceptable level of light. The purpurata in the background of this plant is a very upright grower and most of the Canhamianas I've seen have also been very upright. Not all...but most.

If you have sprawlers...it could just be in their genetics.

Hey Bud
I didn't think of poor habits. It is a primary of a Purpurata and Mossiae. Don't they both tend to be upright?

Like Katrina mentioned, purpurata is up and down but mossiae lies down quite a bit. I think the purpurata vegetative habit is dominant in this cross.
