I'm impressed with the size of this flower compared to the plant! I got this from Andy's orchids last summer, and in contrast to my Brassavola nodosa that I acquired at the same time, this one didn't drop any leaves in the windowsill. It has taken a while, but has slowly been pushing up buds.

Beautiful bloom, I really like these. I have one about that size that I purchased a month ago at Parkside. I mounted mine and it has a lot of new growth but no buds as yet. The bloom size is nice and I love the color. Congratulations!

I took it off its mount, but I wasn't terribly thorough about removing the sphagnum pad it was mounted with because when i tried it broke roots. So I left it on most of its sphagnum pad and plopped that on top of some LECA.

It gets a bit of moisture from the bottom from the LECA, and I spray it when it's dry from the top. It's been a very forgiving plant for me. I've had it on the mount, tied it to some hygrolon, and then switched it to the LECA. It just kept on trucking the whole time.
