C. porphyroglossa
The blooms are waxy in texture. I have two plants. They are easy species to bloom and to grow.

It's beautiful,is this the first blooming.?
I got mine as a very small plant and took me almost 5 years to get 2 blooms,so was not so easy to get to bloom for me,but I finally did it.They are beautiful and I am hoping to get more blooms next time.

It came as a blooming size plant last year and ever had blooms last year. Like some summer cattleyas, when the new growths strat to grow, the flower sheath also develops.

Beautiful!! I love this species so much I have 2.
While it's not been my hardest to bloom...I can't put it in the easiest category. One of mine is a seedling so maybe it'll prove easier but my larger one tends to be bit stingy w/the blooms. Same growing conditions results in one year of blooming but the next nothing. ?? But when it does bloom...OH MY! - gorgeous!
Great job growing yours and thanks for sharing because it's not seen too often.
