BLC. Always Dream 'Volcano Queen'

Today

Yamadaara Redland Sunset
BLC. Hawaii Stars 'Paradise'

I didn't realize I bought the same plant twice I should have bought the Brassavola Nadosa .

They had a Dendrobium Spectabile but the google image intimidated me a bit.

Update :::

I have had 4 new growths so far with about 3 new growth nubs. My bulbs look shriveled compared to google images I find. I had them in a south window and now have them in a north west window facing. They seem to like the late sun and have burst out with roots growing everywhere. I'm wondering when Would this start to spike?

I've stopped fertilizing completely. I'm looking into using a kelp fertilizer of some type.

You don't mention which of the orchids you are asking about (?). However, most,except the Dendrobium, are into he Cattleya alliance and will get flower spikes coming from a 'sheath' at the top of the mature growth, coming from between th leaves atop the pseudobulb.

The photos from 2015 showed mostly plants too small to flower. Timing is different for different growing conditions, so it's hard to predict.

Why have you stopped fertilizing completely? I use both fert and kelpmax. If your psb are shriveled maybe you need to water a bit more. I have to water my smaller up to 4 inch pots about every other or every 3 days. There doing much better than before when I was really under watering. But I still have a few that I have not gotten to bloom yet and it's been at least 2 years that I have had them. I think the larger Catt's take longer than the mini ones to bloom.

I'm sorry I was talking about the Yamadara Redland Sunset.

There is a newer growth , with something in the middle not split open . It's closed kind of looks like a leaf. But wouldn't this be opened up if it was a leaf? I will try to post a picture of it.

Since I am now using Lava rock I am in search of a new fertilizer and one that doesn't not burn roots. Which I experienced a bit before with new growths.
