I know exactly what you mean. Years ago, I bought a tiny seedling of var. Werkhauserii 'Blue Sky'...when I had no idea how large Cattleyas could get (before I joined an OS). The seedling keeps getting larger and I still have not managed to convince myself that it is an impractical to try to grow it under lights. :|
