Cattleya nobilior - Orchid Board

Has anyone flowered any of the US commercial nurseries Cattleya nobilior seedlings and can post photos or describe the results, Please ? Thanks!

The only American nobilior seedlings worth having are from H&R Nurseries. Their nobilior are outstanding and are eagerly bought up by the Brazilians and Japanese alike. H&R Nurseries Orchids

Thanks Stephen; That is what I thought too. By the way, is your C. amethystoglossa var. palha 'Gloriosa' x 'Palhinha' stable in flower color? Those sometimes tend to revert back to tipo in cool temps (winter flowering, of course). Thanks !

It has only bloomed once, so I won't know until next year! However, the flower became more white as it aged. Ramon was active on orchid board under the name Kavanaru and has the same cross as I do. That is the typical behavior to revert back to its more natural color. You have to try to bloom it in the very hot conditions and very high light where some of these specimens grow naturally in their habitat in Bahia. I am talking about 90F to 100F and almost full sunlight in the morning and afternoon. Difficult to reproduce under 'captivity' I reckon...

Actually, you just described central Texas! Those conditions have already started for 2015!

I have to say their website is very unfriendly to customers. I downloaded the price list and figured out there was no photo. Basically they ask their customers to jump back and forth between the price list and the catalogs (on separate files). Sorry for the negative comment.
