Is this anything to be feared?

Do you know the name of the Catt? Some, in particular Catt. lueddemanniana have spotted leaves until after they have bloomed. It could just be pigment.

I've seen that before on some catts. I think it's from light exposure.

Sorry the name didn't show on the picture. This is C. Lueddemanniana 'Arthur Chadwick' AM/AOS
It's very common for lueddemanniana's to be spotted with pigment. My newer leaves always are and as they mature it goes away. Ecuagenera, who sold me mine told me it would do that. Yours looks fine.
In case you aren't aware, lueddemanniana is a species so you would use a small l rather than a capital L.

Thanks for the correction. I assumed that since it was somebody's last name (G.A. Lueddemann, 1821-1884, orchid grower) it should be capped. Glad to know it's not sick, anyhow.

Species use small letters, registered hybrids use capital letters.
Someone just posted one of these in bloom here on Orchid Board today. Very nice. Mine is not the same cultivar but it blooms every year and I love it.

OK, here's the picture in Chadwick's catalog. It was also featured in Orchids recently.
