Katrina.

I have this cypress knee that's about 2.5 feet tall. You think that would make a good mount for these? Looking at your plant, I'm thinking of mounting a couple near the base, and letting them climb.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. If you look at my 2nd pic, you can see the thicker section in the middle of the totem...that is the original tree fern mount and I attached it to the totem. It sends shoots out everywhere and some I leave having freely and some I have attached to the totem. My eventual goal is to have the totem completely enveloped in the plant. When I post this year's pic you'll see it's done a nice job of growing onto the back portion over the past year.

So, yea, I think it would do really well on the cypress and it should hold up longer than I'm sure my tree fern totem will.

BTW - when I bought mine it was tagged as Oerstedella centradenia but the accepted name is now Epidendrum centropetalum.
