C. Summer Spot 'Carmela' blooming tricks? Female
Default C. Summer Spot 'Carmela' blooming tricks?

I've had this plant for about a year. It was considered blooming size when purchased. It has almost doubled in size since I repotted into moss last summer. It gets plenty of light with 3 T5 bulbs and a westerly window. I thought it might be putting out a spike but after about 1/4" it just stalled. That's in the first photo.
I'm going to try and add some photos.
Any ideas about what might help bring on some flowers??

Thanks so much for your help!

It sounds like it is getting enough light. How far are the T5's above the plant? I find when I buy bloom size plants, that description is often a bit of an exaggeration or they need extra time to adapt. So I don't always get blooms right away. If you are referring to that new growth on the edge, it looks fine. I myself wouldn't want a Catt in pure moss in a plastic pot, but you said it was growing well, so it is likely fine. Maybe that new growth is working on a sheath at the moment

The plant looks really healthy. They say catts should be a very light green in order to bloom. They look pretty light colored. Some catts are fussy and take time to adjust to their environment like Silken says.
