Buddy;
It's actually a 4N plant grown in Japan and selected for exhibition in New World Orchids display in the Tokyo Grand Prix. I bought it from New World Orchids when they returned to the States.
Being a 4N plant it's a more rugged plant with better flower quality.
Since they technically are Cattleyas, and the plants available today are so heavy bred, they're easier than people give them credit for. I treat mine just like the rest of my Catts.
The Japanese are as obsessive about Sophronitis as they are about Neofinetias and Cymbidiums, so the flowers they are producing now are just mind boggling.
