Thanks, Picotee. I actually used natural lighting but it was right at sunset so the light was at a good angle. I was using artificial lighting for a couple years but I've decided I prefer natural light. Unfortunately that means carefully picking the time and place for a to take photographs.

Is the plant quite small for large flowered Cattleya?
I think I saw one in bud and was surprised to see how small the plant was.

That is spectacular. Pictures, I have discovered, usually don't do an orchid justice. I have bought some orchids that looked interesting from pictures and when they bloom...wow!

I agree. That's often been my experience also.

It's a little smaller than some other standard cattleyas. In the bright light conditions of South Florida the leaves are about 14" long. Some of my other standard catts are 18" or more.
