Lc. Drumbeat 'Heritage'
I got this orchid from Hausermann 7 months ago when it was on sale. To my surprise, the bare root specimen arrived in a much bigger size than I expected. It's root system tightly fit 6.5" pot (not 6" pot size as described on the website) so I have to repot it into an 8.5" pot, thanks to some tips from Jeff (Tucker85). This is one of the most vigorous orchid I have ever grown. Few weeks after repotting, the plant sent out several new growth and one of them is giving 2 flowers as you are seeing now. Unlike other dark lavender catts like Blc. Lucky Strike or C. Withoutid (a no-id, in my recent post) which have strong fragrance, the pale lavender Drumbeat doesn't have any detectable scent to me. Enjoy

I think fragrance may kick in a few days. When I bought mine, it came in bloom and was fragrant. Mine is also from Hausermann and currently in bud.

I've seen those sales on Housermanns. I really would like to get one of those babys. Grrr. Can't wait to be out of college!

I'm a bit curious. Why do you have to wait until getting of college? Is that because of the space issue? If yes, don't get this baby because it's huge. Lc. Bonanza 'Peppermint' or Irene Finney 'Spring best' (currently on sale by Hausermann) are better alternatives due to their smaller size, I think. And I can't wait to be out of (grad) school as well, LoL!

Gorgeous, I just got a card from them yesterday and they are having another open house. More orchids on sale. My jewel box is blooming from them and another one going to open. My giant one will be awhile yet.
