Blc Jeremy Island 'Carmela' no roots

I bought this Cattleya from Fla and the tag states
BlC Jeremy Island 'Carmela' 4/14/2011

When I purchased it she it had 5 bulbs. I'm down to 2 and a new growth. It has no roots now and I have it its spag moss wrapped slightly on a big lava rock. I think it is doing better then before bc the bulb is getting plumped again. The other one is still wrinkled and the new growth is ok.
Are there any other suggestions on what I should do. I fertilize weakly / other week. I am now watering everyday to start help new roots grow.

I have seen pictures of this flower and I love the color. My Oldest Sons birthday is 4/14 and the tags date is 4/14. I don't want this orchid to die bc it has that sentimental value from the dates.
