Epc. Siam Jade 'Avo'
Woohoo! My first Cattleya hybrid to bloom! I purchased this in early October of '07 and it had a new lead just starting to grow and it grew like a weed, and this is what it presented me with after three months of having it! What I like most about it, is its frilly-feathery edges. It just wouldn't be the same without them! I hope you all enjoy the pictures as much as I am enjoying the blooms!

Congrats Becca!!! There's just nothing like the feeling you get when you've grown and bloomed a plant well!
It really is a beauty, so shiny and frilly. I like it a lot! Is it fragrant?
You've done good!!!

Debs, I gave it a big wiff, and it almost reminds me of a lily, but it is very faint.
Sue, what you are seeing in the back ground isn't driftwood....they are elk and deer antlers that are from hunting or we found while hiking...lol....do you think I could mount orchids on them???? That would be soooo cool, but they are a little on the smooth side.

Becca, Great growing! This is a little treaure. I love seeing Catts that are compact and tidy - and this one's blooms are fantastic! The contrast in greens between the flowers and the leaves is great. Thanks for sharing it with us.
