Bc. Nakornpathome Silver
Bc. Nakornpathome Silver (Bc. Binosa x B. nodosoa). A large tongue twister of a name for a cute small plant. This is 3/4 B. nodosa and 1/4 C. bicolor.
I got this in fall of 2011 as a medium seedling. Again this is a first bloom that I feel is overdue, and I attribute it to some cultural changes I have made in the past 6 months. I've been lowering the pH of my water and adding a Cal/Mag. supplement. I starting getting black spots on all the new leaves and it produced a number of small sheaths, but never bloomed. In the last few months it produced one spike prior to this one that blasted. Now these 2 buds have bloomed and there is another small spike growing. I just hope I don't blast it by bringing it in from the greenhouse to enjoy it in the house. The last few new growths are much cleaner looking with either no spots or a lot less. So I hope this will really start showing me what it can do. It seems to want to bloom often based on the number of sheaths I have seen.
There is no scent yet, but I only brought it in today and it may be scented tonight.
I find it interesting that one lip is somewhat different than the other. One bloom is about 2 days older than the other, so maybe the lip will 'develop' . Pics in OrchidWiz show different plants that have one lip shape or the other, but not both on one spike!

Thanks Sonya and Monika. I think these blooms are so cute
Monika, the plant is around 12 inches tall from the bottom of the pot to the tallest leaf. The largest leaf, including a small pseudobulb is about 9 inches, but they don't all stand quite straight up. It is a fairly compact plant with many growths. The leaves may get larger as it matures, but I can't say for sure. Cloud's , where I got it from calls it compact to mid-size.
