One of my cattleya's is in spike - waiting, waiting, waiting....this one doesn't bloom too often - this is the second spike in about 3-4 years.

My little cattleya bloom has arrived. first time I get to see the bloom. looks like if all goes well, there will be four flowers on this one. oh and i can't get the color quite right - the bloom is actually a deeper purple to the eye, my camera keeps insisting its more pink...



YAY!!! these cattleya's are very reluctantly blooming for me only the second one in 4 years.

Congrats! Looks like it was worth the wait. Maybe they need a little more light if they are all so stubborn. That's usually the cause of Catts not blooming well.

Try changing the WB (white balance) on your camera to get a truer colour in your pics. If you use a flash, set it to the flash setting.

all four blooms on my cattleya are now open...mostly upside down...


the blooms did lighten up a bit.

Nice, I can never get the color of my one that is kind of like yours in color right either. Does that sound funny? I think I put that wrong, anywho.
