Taichung Beauty with diseased leaves
I bought a very ornate and quite expensive orchid at a show in Scotland, just about a year ago. It was in reasonable condition, and we have managed to get 2 new leaves over the past few months, However, 3 of the older leaves are turning yellow with black spots (I will try to figure out how to post a picture!) The specimen is
Pot.Taichung Beauty "Rouge Cattle". We live north of Edinburgh, and apart from these leaves, the plant is doing ok! Any ideas please
..THANK YOU

It is a bit hard to tell, but it looks like it could be that there was some damage to the leaf, and some bacteria or fungus got in the wound, and caused the black spots.

A picture of the entire plant and pot would be helpful.

I've had ones like that on a Catt after it had had damage to a leaf. I've not worried too much as the rest looks fine.
As Silken sugested a picture of the whole plant could help.
I've moved this thread into the 'Cattleya' section rather than 'About this Board' which is mostly for discussion about the forum itself father than about orchids. Hopefully that might help more people see your post and help.

update
thank you for previous replies..I apologise that I did not re-post sooner. I am new to this sort of thing! The plant has pulled through the year, and we just cut off the "affected " leaves. I am attaching new photos and am delighted to report that there is new and strong bud appearing. I would like to know if this is just a new leaf appearing, or if we may get a new flower...it was flowering when we bought it but has not flowered since thanks all

It looks like bacterial brown spots on the leaves. Good thing is you cut them off already and the plant has new growth. Are you growing the plant it door? The plant seems a bit dehydrated which is common for in door growing, especially when the heater is on.

next question please
My "Taichung beauty" still showing new growth, but when I gave it it's once a week watering, it toppled out of the pot...disaster...!! My question is, do I just stick back in again, or do I re-pot in fresh compost. I think we last re-potted it in fresh compost around a year ago, and don't reckon we need to add ne compost. I am just not sure how deep we need to repot after its escape! Thanks

If it has toppled out of the pot, how are the roots doing?
