I have a crush on those wonderful historic or vintage Cattleya hybrids, the milestones of breeding. This one has been used more than 200 times. As the flowers mature, the creamy yellow turns into a golden warm tone.

Fantastic blooms. Seeing this lovely old classic cattleya makes me wish Jones & Scully was still in business. While I can understand the current trend in cattleyas for the small "windowsill" plants that save space, there's nothing to compare to a large cattleya plant that's producing equally majestic blooms. Are the blooms of this particular mericlone fragrant?
