It's beautiful. OK I'll bite, where do the spots come from? I was thinking milleri was orange/red with yellow lip?

B. nodosa can display spots, so I suppose they were just expressed more clearly in the cross.

Mine has 2 spikes at the moment. The first is in full bloom and the second is just getting ready to open.

That is a beautiful orchid! It certainly brightens my day, too.

Thanks Ray, I didn't know that. I guess I have never seen one with spots.

Yay! It's beautiful!
Brassavola nodosa passes on its spotted lip to most of the crosses made with it. The spots aren't obvious on nodosa itself most of the time, but they are there.

If only there was a way to make the flower open more quickly, lol, maybe a little bedtime story would help....
