Oerstedella wallisii
This plant is also known as Epidendrum wallisii. The slightly cupped yellow green flowers measure 1 inch across. The petals and sepals have maroon spots. The plant is growing in a 3-inch plastic pot with bark as the media. The tallest reed is 14 inches tall. The flowers are long lasting (the bottom row of flowers are more than a month old). I obtained this plant a couple of years ago as a 2-inch seedling from a nursery on Maui.

Awesome!
How are you growing this?
I've had one for a little over a year now (got it from TOF) and while it's doing OK...I feel like it could be doing better. Any tips or hints you'd like to share would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, please hints!
I HAD one of these too. Did ok for a short time but then went to orchid heaven.
Would like to try it again if the chance ever arises.

My plant also came from TOF. They have some of the most unusual plants. I always hesitate to give cultural tips because growing conditions vary greatly between areas. We have so much advantage growing plants in Hawaii than in most areas. We don't have to worry about freezing and extreme hot weather. Anyway my Oerstedella wallisii is grown outdoors with my dendrobiums and cattleyas under 50% shade. It gets watered twice per week and fertilized once per week. I find the wallisii very easy to grow. It doesn't require special care for me.
