Cattleya Hawaiian Carolina 'Lavender'

Got this from EOM last year. It's the first time blooming. Had 4 buds forming. Purchased as Lc. (Shellie Compton x Lucille Small) 'Lavender'. The petals are a light pink albeit more pink than in the photo. Oddly the sepals are insignificant.
How is it that there was a clonal name but not a registered GREX name?
