Default Cattleya mosiae in Venezuela and Amorphophallus bulbifer

I was just reviewing old pictures in my Mac and found these ones..

These Cattleya mosiae are growing at the house of my parent... the big one must be at leats 20 years old... the pics are from 2004

and this is my Amorphophallus bulbifer... I grew it from a seed I stole at the botanical garden in Caracas the nice thing is that after several years, it finally bloomed and the flowers are twice as big as those at the BG... Now, my sister have it at her house and it is a great bloomer

OMG!!!! I cannot believe my eyes with these two plants. That Catt. is absolutely amazing! Amazing foliage, # of blooms and bloom color! Next thing I know you will tell me it smelled good too.
Then to top it off, you posted an Aroid for me to drool over . Does this Amorph. stink? Its beautiful. the color is very very pleasant to look at. And the size and shape is impressive. How did you grow this one?
This post gets, 5 out of 5 possible points.

Yeahp! C mosiae has a very very nice scent I love it, even if the flower shape is not the best among cattleyas.. however, many many Hybrids have it somewhere in their ancestors...

Hey, it would not be a good Amorphophallus if it would not stink... However, it is only for just a few hours during the night... and it just grows there in the garden of my sister But I can tell you that I have an Amorphophallus konjak here and it does very good in quite normal soil for house plants (with a bit loam added) lots of water during active phase and as much light as possible.. then during the dormant phase I just take the bulb out of the pot and keep it warpped innewspaper until the next year... if I am lucky, I will have it blooming this spring for the first time (the bulbo is now 3 pounds!)... and i am trying to get some new seeds or small bulbs from the A. bulbifer fromVenezuela, as it is quite special and MUCH better than most A. bulbifer I have seen in Europe

Thanks!

Thanks also for the lengthy response. I hope to grow a Amorpho. some day. But right now I have a small apartment and little sunlight. So I need to fine one that will grow with partial morning sunlight, or less, and will not stink up the house, anytime of the day or night. I have risked far too much already by keeping small stinkers in the office.
