Clematis vitalba is a climbing poisonous wild wine, growing here like weed. I think you call it virgin's bower.
Unless you grow in an humid environment, you might get better results from growing in small pots filled with small pieces of lava.
I think that cernua grows easier and accepts conditions suitable for a Cattleya better than other Sophronitis (coccinea, pygmaea, bicolor, mantiqueirae etc).
Thanks for your kind comments.
Very nice, I have a seedling mounted on a piece of bark with sphagnum moss as padding (right between the plant and the bark) for two years and the plant did nothing. The root seems to have stopped growing when it comes in contact with the sphagnum moss. Last month I removed the moss and the plant starting sending roots to the bark. Very odd behavior. While my phals that are mounted is doing great with that setup. This particular one didn't. Now that you mentioned that it likes dryness. It now makes sense to me and have to comment and share my experience. Feels like I lost two years worth of growth given that I have seen lots of action in just a span of little over a month...
