It can bloom multiple times as far as you have multiple new growths, since it always blooms from the new growth. This year I have 2 new growths, and today the new spike opened, so this is my second blooming for 2014 :-) Spike has again 3 buds, the same like last one. It likes to be moist in summer but much drier in winter time.

Hi Tommy,

Congrats on your second bloom this year, it is really pretty!! I have a young luteola myself that flowered for the first time this year. I added a picture to compare the flowers, because they are always little differences between each plant. Like they got their own personalities...

I'll will tell mine that yours flowers twice a year, just in case!

Very nice Pat! It does bloom from every new growth, so once your plant gets bigger and grows more growths at one growing season, they should all bloom for you! Mine was small plant, 2 pseudobulbs last year when I got it, and the spike last year did blast. This year, 2 new growths, 2 spikes, each 3 buds and all opened. Very happy here!

They are both lovely. I am still waiting for mine, want to kick myself when Ray had them and I didn't order one.

Tommy I was looking at SBOE yesterday and they have the other one that looks like this one. I can't remember it's name but looks some what like it. I can't remember the difference, it might not be as small.

They also have a cross of the 2. I really need to be careful as I am having a hard enough time get what I have watered. Also way to cold to order, that's the good news.

Thanks Shannon, I am fine with Cats for now, only things I am adding are real miniature and micro orchids for now :-) There must be something very special from larger plants to add it, like Eriopsis biloba that I could not resist recently :-)

I tried growing that lovely twice and failed. I got them both from Gold Country Orchids. Maybe if I can find a local grower I might be successful. A very cutle little plant.
