Cattleya perrinii
This just opened today. I thought it had aborted but was pleased to see buds last week. It's actually much brighter than in the picture.

Yes it was Laelia perrinii. Supposedly closely related to purpurata and tenebrosa.

It smell to me like anise but thankfully not a strong smell.
