I have the heat and sun, but sadly humidity and water is a challenge for me, so I've not focused on the vanda group as much.

Do you have Spanish Moss in your country (Tillandsia usneoides)??? If so, than I would try some vanda, I would put Spanish moss hanging all over the roots and mist every day. This way, the moss will keep the roots moist longer and will provide some extra humidity. I think you can do it!

Yes, I do have Tillandsia usneoides (in fact, I like collecting different types of Tillandsia) it's a spin off from orchid growing.
That is a very good idea, I notice in the one picture, you had put quite a lot around that plant root system.
I will give it a try, thank you for sharing that idea.
