BLC Greenwich Elmhurst AM/AOS-sheath blasting? Female
Default BLC Greenwich Elmhurst AM/AOS-sheath blasting?

Hi, all -

I have a BLC Greenwich Elmhurst AM/AOS that showed a sheath about a week and a half ago. It looks kind of weird now and I think the sheath/bud is failing, but I'm not sure because this is the only Cat alliance orchid that has even tried to bloom for me. Here are the pics. The first is with the sheath over the bud (I think); the second is showing how easily I could pull the sheath back. Also, should I be worried about all the dark spots under the skin below the sheath? I just put him out to summer in May and he seemed to be doing well. What do you guys think? Blast??? Blast!!

White Rabbit, I think you are right - it rotted. It came right off yesterday.

Well, at least it tried! So, I must have done something right over the last year I had it, even though either I - or nature - fumbled at the end.

I am sorry your bud rotted, that is not fun when you have worked so hard to bloom it. I am sure the bloom will be even better next time!
