Default Nageliella purpurea

Have had this for years also mounted this one to a tube last year and it has grown very well with its new mount.

Never cut old spikes off they will bloom for many years. easy to grow plant, outdoors in Los Angeles area, has seen very hot and very cold.

love the foliage.

Mine is growing in a pot. I have read recommendations to grow this mounted on tree fern. I'm glad to see your plant. Now I know what it can look like. I really like the leaves on this plant. Thanks for sharing. How often do you water? Do you let is dry out?

I water every morning at around 4am before I go to work, in summer this gets water every morning, spring/fall about 4 times a week, during winter I let mother nature water it.

They like water when growing, I feed every week regardless of season, just cut rate in half during winter.

I would only grow this mounted, they don't seem to mind my low humidity where I live, most days barely over 20% RH. My GH is usually around 65% RH.

Great growing.......Most interesting plant in my own collection, nice to look at in or out of flower... ... thes are just great plants.... I believe these are currently included in the genus (Domingoa) transferred in 2007. Although I must say Hartwegia purpurea and Domingoa purpurea does not sound as kwl as nageliella purpurea...

Great looking Nag purp! You know...I don't think I've ever seen one so large and well grown. Well done!

I used to have this species...the leaves really are great.
