Leaf color?

I am totally new to cattleya having gotten my first two a week or so ago. My question is are the leaves on my blc Susan Harry supposed to be so much darker than those of my lc dinard blue heaven? I know they had a similar discussion in the beginners forum about Phal leaves but I didn't know if the same applied to catts. Sorry the pic isn't that great but it's overcast here today.

Different Catts have different leaf colors just like Phals. I have different colored leaves on my Catts even when they are sitting right next to each other, sharing the same light.

Your new purchase looks very healthy - enjoy it.

There are some Cattleya that get red leaves when given bright light.

Assuming plants have been well cared for, always make a mental note of the leaf color of orchids when first purchased from professional growers ( or good hobby growers), and then try to keep the leaf color the same way. That way, you don't have to worry.

The best test of wheather your care is good is that they give you flowers, I guess. Most of my older ones are near the yellow side of green.
