That is absolutely stunning!

I know this post is a bit older. But I just bought one of these plants a while ago and I was hoping to get some growing tips. I see yours is in a basket and I get the impression most people either mount them or grow them in baskets. Mine came in a small pot and is due for a re-pot. I believe there is some old bark and large perlite in there. With green moss growing across the top, I can't really tell how things are.

It has recently started putting out some tiny spikes. What seems weird is that the older mature growth is spiking as well as the two that may be near or recently matured from that mother growth. My experience with the Cattleya group is that usually only the most recently matured growths will spike.

So I won't disturb the plant until after I see if it will bloom. It is beautiful and healthy looking and I just hope I can keep it that way.
