Lc. Merced Skies
Thought you might like a look at my Lc. Merced Skies now in bloom.
This is an especially appropriate post because Stewart Orchids made this cross (Lc. Parysatis coerulea x C. gaskelliana 'Blue Dragon') on 7/17/64 - almost exactly 50 years ago!
So, Happy Fiftieth Birthday, Merced Skies!
I personally bought this orchid at Stewart's in the early 1970's and have been growing and blooming it ever since.
The color is almost impossible to capture accurately - it is much 'bluer' in person. The second picture comes closer, but is out of focus because of long exposure (I couldn't hold still enough!).
