Getting a leptotes bicolor

Totally new to this orchid, all advice and tips GREATLY appreciated!

First tip is it's in the Cattleya, not the Pleurothallis alliance! I find it very easy to grow under a wide range of conditions, from a south facing windowsill with natural light and fairly low humidity to a terrarium with moderate artificial light and high humidity.Leptotes bicolor Experiment

Subrosa, when I read your other thread, I thought it was an informative way to demonstrate how easy it is to grow this plant.

Judith, I have mine growing on a piece of wood, in bright light. Since it is outside for the summer, it has really accelerated its growth. It is either getting watered by rain or I water it after a day. Being mounted, it gets totally dry in a day. In the winter, it is in a bright south facing window--it doesn't get direct light. I do grow it like my other Cattleya alliance plants from Brasil.

A little trivia, when you get it to bloom, and the flower is pollinated and becomes a seed pod, the seeds are used to flavor milk and other foods as a substitute for vanilla. If you ever visit southern Brasil or Paraguay, you'll see large rafts of these plants everywhere.

Mine is potted in LECA. Bright morning light, shadier afternoon. Warm/hot temps, daily water.
Like Matt's, in winter it's in a south facing window.
