I have some from Marble Branch and the plants did really well. They have mounted plants as well as baskets. Mine were not cattleyas though.

When I first started with catts, I called Hausermann's. They recommended Buranas Beauty, Jamaica Red, Why Not, and Binosa Wabash as easy, reliably compact plants. I lost the Why Not, likely my own fault, but I've enjoyed all the others for several years.

Im thinking of going back to orchids limited to find a dexent sized one. Ive read that seedlings can take a few years to bloom.
So like fairorchids said, ill just drop a llittle more money into a bigger, more mature one.

I remember when i was there in feb, they had a cattleya that was huge in a 6-7" pot (im just guestimating) and my daughter loved it, she wouldnt stop sticking her face into the flower to take a long wiff of the fragrance it had. Boy was she mad at me for not buying it. Lol

Weve been mentioning a lot about small and compact cattleyas, but what about some bigger sized ones. Ive had my eyes on the amethystoglossa for a while now, but am still a little intimidated ro take that step toward cattleyas. Anybody have some big sized beauties they would recomend?
