Sophrolaeliocattleya World Vacation 'Shibuya Sunset' (Lc. Commander x Sc. Bea...
I have been watching this plant on eBay for awhile. It finally came up for auction. Surprisingly, I was the only one who bid on this plant. According to Kawamoto: "Slc. World Vacation 'Shibuya Sunset' is a new compact growing cattleya that produces light art shade flowers that will bloom in pretty clusters. (Blooms twice a year). This orchid is a compact grower (Stays short- excellent for windowsill growing) and a prolific Slightly FRAGRANT bloomer. It consistently blooms off of each new growth and flowers are 3-3.5" inches in diameter."

Congrats!
They look like they are about one or two seasons away from blooming. Or are they of blooming size?
Whatever the size, the flower shot is really nice!

Hi NYC, thank you for looking...according to Kawamoto Orchids, these plants pictured are about 18 months to 24 months from blooming. It has plenty of time to acclimate to my environment!

I almost bid on that plant! Kept coming back to it on my watchlist but decided to hold off. Great choice and good luck!

Got a notice from FedEX that my plants are in Fort Wayne and can be picked up today. I cannot wait for the end of the day to go to FedEx and pick up this plant.

Picked up this new plant--I have two of them (for the price of one), very healthy, well packed. They are nice and small and fit in with my other ministure Laelia/Cattleya. I watered them for the first time this past Sunday with rain water. Drenched them completely. A very nice, earthy orchid scent wafted from the plant. This was a surprise--no flowers but the plant seemed to exude this scent. If the plant smells this good, I can't imagine how the flowers will smell!!

Okay... I want one. I'm really getting into mini catts and that one is a winner in my book. Did they happen to have anymore?
Nice pick Matt! Thank you for sharing the photos with us!

Hi Random! I haven't checked lately, but Kawamoto Orchids had a buy it now offering--like this one--for$24.99?? They have other SLC available too--I look for their description of "compact" or "mini". What is nice about Kawamoto is they offer FREE shipping. So you are paying for the plants.
