B. Cucullata x. Acualis

Has anyone ever seen this cross flower? I've had one for years, it grows like a weed, but has yet to push a flower for me. Any advice on what could be wrong? The plant is mounted, watered daily, fertilized weekly weakly, and in about 2400 fc of t5 fluorescent light (measured with a light meter next to the plant) 14 hours a day. Currently pushing 7 new growths.

I bought it years ago from a vendor I can't remember the name of who was selling at oak hill during the chicagoland orchid show. At the time I do remember the vendor had said they hadn't gotten it to flower yet.

The plant is really gorgeous on its own, so I'm not really concerned if it won't flower, but if anyone knows anything about this cross, I'd love some advice!

According to OrchidWiz both species parents need around 3500 to 4000 fc. of light so it may be a light issue. I notice that diurnal range in winter is 15 to 25degrees F. in natural habitat so that could have some bearing as well.

I'm not familiar with this cross but it sure sounds like a nice one. In addition to Silken's good advice I'd suggest trying a period of shorter days with very dark nights, or maybe increased red wavelengths-- I've been told at least some Laeliinae are strongly cued by seasonal changes in quantity/quality of light.
